Our Community Duncan, the county seat of Stephens County, is located between Oklahoma City and Dallas, Texas, on Highway 81. It is a vital part of southwestern Oklahoma where you will find the best of both worlds-southern hospitality and sophisticated technology. Duncan Regional Hospital is accessible by local highways US 81 and Oklahoma Highway 7 (Highway I-44 is 30 miles to the north and I-35 is 50 miles to the east). Duncan is surrounded by rolling wheat fields and productive oil fields.
Based on our location, you can live and raise a family in a community that is known for its safe neighborhoods, good schools, low crime and low unemployment and still be within an hour's drive of a metropolitan area. We currently have a population of around 23,000 citizens within the city and 43,000 within the county.
Whatever the season, Duncan offers a variety of entertainment, sporting events and recreation with a variety of lakes and wildlife areas within easy driving distance. We live in a very temperate area of the United States and usually have very mild winters and warm summers.
In addition to annual events and festivals, you will be delighted to find 14 city park facilities within the Duncan area. Also, for sports fans, there are Abe Raizen Park and Hines softball park where you can enjoy tournaments in the spring, summer and fall.
