Living with diabetes requires constant maintenance, education and a person with diabetes willingness to participate in their own health. With proactive lifestyle changes, persons with diabetes have the ability to prevent or delay the complications that typically arise from diabetes.

Our diabetes educators and dietitians provide education and support that can help you effectively manage your disease. This puts you in control, allowing you to lead a healthy and fulfilled life.

The DRH Health Diabetes Education Program is recognized and approved by the American Diabetes Association.

Services Offered for Persons with Diabetes

  • Annual Follow-up
  • Basic diabetes self-management training and education
  • Continuous Glucose Monitoring training
  • Insulin training and education
  • Insulin pump training (Medtronic)
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Nutritional Consultations
  • Pregnancy with diabetes (Type 1, II, or gestational)
  • Professional Continuous Glucose Monitoring

Services Available for Those with Pre-Diabetes

The CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a 12 month lifestyle change program that meets for one hour each session. You will meet weekly for the first 16 weeks then monthly. The topics are outlined by the CDC. The goal is to lose 5-7% of body weight and obtain 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week.

  • Shop and cook to prevent type 2 diabetes
