Therapy Programs

From treatment to recovery, our team of highly skilled and experienced therapists are with you every step of the way. Duncan Regional Hospital's wide variety of therapy programs all work toward returning you to your active lifestyle while providing education about managing symptoms and preventing future injury.

Occupational Therapy

We treat upper-extremity injuries (trauma, surgery and overuse) with emphasis on increasing function, and teaching self-care and pain relief.
We work with our patients in the following areas:

• Basic activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Advanced living skills: such as meal preparation/clean up, money management, household maintenance, shopping, etc.

Physical Therapy

We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders associated with on the job, motor vehicle, orthopedic and sports injuries. Other conditions commonly treated include: neurological, burns/wounds, chronic pain, TMJ and pre/post surgical patients.

Individualized treatment for our patients may include:

• Reducing pain
• Increasing range of motion, strength
• Focus on mobility

Speech Therapy

The speech therapy team works to maximize your independence at work and/or in your personal environment. Swallowing and communication disorders are the primary referrals sent to speech therapy, either through our outpatient or inpatient services. Treatment for swallowing problems includes: modification of diet, compensatory positioning and oral exercises. Treatment for communication disorders includes cognitive therapy, oral exercises and alternative communication methods.
